The driver that replaced my windshield did not remove my inspection sticker. I called around 7:30 this morning.

I was told the driver still had the windshield on his truck, and when he gets in, I will let him know before he gets rid of it. I'll call you back.

Preferred solution: My inspection sticker

No follow through and poor customer service

I was told when I scheduled that it would take 10 days for the glass to arrive. After three weeks I have not heard from them.

Finally got a confirmation that the glass had arrived and having been trying for a week to get an install date with no response. Totally unsatisfactory experience.

The Glass Doctor of Arlington Texas is...

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - Manager yelled at customers; service was disorganized.
  • - Estimates for 18 windows were split; financing details were unclear and no warranty or receipts.

The Glass Doctor of Arlington Texas is so unprofessional and disorganized. The manager is rude and yells at you.

This is my second time using Glass Doctor to replace glass in windows in my home. I had a good experience the first time getting 2 garage windows replaced. This time has been *** and a pain in my butt. The person that came out to give me estimates for 10 windows lied to me about several things including how financing would go.

The job was split into 2 jobs even though at first I asked for an estimate on all 18 windows. I was lied to and told that I should split the estimate up to get discounts for being a return customers. Scheduling was *** They sent 1 person to complete the job and it took him from 10:30 am to 6:00 pm to complete. That installation tech lied to me and said he could give me a quote on the other 8 windows.

I was given the run around on getting a another quote. Then the estimator again lied about what time he would come and never actually showed me the break down of the estimate. In all of this I have never received the warranty information that I supposedly paid for the first 10 windows. Then all of a sudden I get a request to pay for the first job through financing and close the financing window.

I called GreenSky who stated that Glass Doctor should only be asking for partial payment if they are going to complete another job with the same financing. OR they can wait and lump it all together. Exactly what I thought. I call back Glass Doctor to inform of this and everything goes down hill.

The manager gets upset that I have questions and wants me to just trust them that they know what they are doing. This is my money and my credit you are playing with. Then tells me if I don't approve the first job payment that they will not come out for the second job. At no point does anyone ever say this.

Ever. Not the schedulers, not the person that came out for the second estimate and sure not the finance people who were quick to talk to me when it was money time. But will not get on the phone to answer my other questions about financing. So it sounds like she is threatening to me.

So I hang up. I have now spent well over $7,000+ with your company. At least you all can have better communication and training for your staff. If they don't want to take the time to example the process up front then they need to quit.

Stop sending out one person for a 2 man job. I have not even received any receipt on the second information or warranty information. Companies survive off repeat customers.

This turns out to be a real pain. After this last job on Thursday April 16th I will not be using you all ever again.

Cons:
  • Price
  • Contract
  • Availability

Preferred solution: Apology

User's recommendation: Avoid this pain in the butt

Possible scam email

AI Highlights
  • - An email landed in spam and claimed I had used their service.
  • - I never heard of them; the message suggested recent service.

I had never heard of this company, but I received an email that went directly to spam. When I read it in spam, it said it had been a while since I had done service with them and they wanted to check in.

That was an absolute lie since I had never heard of them, much less used them for service. Have no idea, but I do not use any company.

That claims Ive had service with them. Just be aware in case you receive an email, it might not be legitimate.

I needed to have my shower door adjusted.

AI Highlights
  • - Desk clerk said there was no service charge.
  • - At the house, the tech said a $300 service charge and it took 15 minutes to fix.
Glass Doctor - I needed to have my shower door adjusted.

I stopped in at their office and the girl at the desk assured me that there was no service charge. And it would only cost me what?

The person had to use to fix the hinge. When the service person got to the house, the first thing he said at the front door was it was the $300 service charge. And I told him the girl told me there was no service charge. He went back out to his truck.

Talk to somebody. Came back in and said there was no way there was not going to be a $300 service charge. I was going to throw him out of the house but the wife want The door fixed.

It took him 15 minutes and about two little tiny pieces of plastic. While he was putting the plastic pieces on the one side, the pieces they put in originally when they installed the door fell out on the other side.

User's recommendation: This place. There's a complete. Dishonest company when it comes to. This is what I paid $300 for.

They indicate that they fix car glass. They also have reviews showing that they did such a great job. Went to them only to find out the whole thing was a scam. Only work on house glass and very rude.

Glass Doctor is an inferior entity to do business with.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - Glass Doctor Melbourne couldn't replace my windshield; wait stretched to 3 weeks.
  • - Mirror charge denied; insurer confirmed claim active.

Glass Doctor is an inferior entity to do business with. The Melbourne, Florida, location was unable to replace the windshield on my 2000 Lexus LX470.

This started as a one-hour wait to replace the windshield, which then turned into three weeks with no replacement being made. I brought the vehicle to the storefront and turned it over for the work to be done. When they found that additional parts were required, they approached me with the issue, and no solution was offered. After several minutes of hemming and hawing, I asked the workers to resubmit the claim with the additional parts.

Several days later the claim came back denying a $1,000 charge for the rear-view mirror. I found that reasonable and called the Glass Doctor to go ahead with the replacement minus the mirror, which I would replace with an aftermarket part (they already had the glass on site).

I expected that parts (additional molding) would be ordered and that I would get a call to schedule for the work to be done. I was never contacted by them. When I called to find out what was going on, I was told that they had been told that I had canceled the claim.

I had not, and a call to the insurance company confirmed that the claim had not been canceled. I called again to tell them this and waited more days for a callback. No call was ever received. When I called again (the fourth time), I was told again that I had canceled the claim.

A call to the insurance company again confirmed that the claim was good to work on.

At this point, it had been 3 weeks since my first appointment at Glass Doctor.

It is abundantly clear that this company cannot execute work that may have unordinary circumstances for extra work or insurance claim processing. I would not recommend them, especially if an older vehicle is involved or if there is anything extra or outside of the box needing to be done.

Unsatisfactory service

AI Highlights
  • - Leak 14 months after install; interior sill leaked in heavy rain.
  • - Paid $150; inspector looked and said exterior caulking; billed $450 for 10–15 min.

14 months after installing a large window in our condo building (paid in full) , it leaked badly along the interior sill during a heavy rainstorm. Called G Doc and they said they would look at it if we paid them $150 for the service call which we did.

They said they could come inspect it in about a week. Explained that the elderly resident was leaving the next day on an extended holiday but nothing changed. When they arrived, a week later, they only looked and determined that it needed caulking and had to be fixed from the exterior in dry weather. Didn't do anything but look, despite being advised several times that it was an urgent repair.

All this time the resident and friends are mopping up water with towels several times a day. We finally got another company to come and caulk the interior. Meanwhile, another week went by and G Doc arrived to "fix" what had been temporarily fixed by the other company already. The technician was there for 10 - 15 min and did some spot caulking.

We were billed over $450. for that visit which we refused to pay as we thought they were over-charging for poor installation and terrible service. When we disputed the charge, G Doc (Justin) said they would remove our name from the list for the exterior repair ("Just to keep us in the loop"). This leakage problem was because a new window was not installed properly--otherwise why did water pour in?

Instead of rectifying an urgent situation, they slow-walked, argued that the installation was "perfect" and then charged an exorbitant amount for 15 minutes of a technician's time. Even though we had explained many times that a newly renovated suite was right underneath this window leak. Didn't matter. We won't use this company again.

Recently, this window has cracked along the inside bottom and will have to be replaced again. Guess who we won't be calling?

What a ripoff!

AI Highlights
  • - $800 to replace a hinge + a $75 non-refundable visit fee; wiggle room to negotiate.
  • - Creekside Glass charged $125; hinge needed adjustment.

Received an estimate of $800 to replace a hinge on my shower glass door on top of a $75 non-refundable charge just to come out and see it. When I complained about the price, I was told that there was "wiggle" room to negotiate with.

This was certainly a red flag for me as all I want is an honest price. Received another quote from Creekside Glass.

Turns out the hinge wasn't broken at all, it just needed adjusting which they did in 20 minutes and only charged me $125. Beware of the "wiggle" room sellers out there!

Poor “Service”

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - Not BBB accredited; unsatisfied with residential window service.
  • - The quote rose from $3,600 to $4,600.
  • - Crew did not show; damaged frame and rushed.

They are not accredited by the Better Business Bureau (BBB). I am unsatisfied with the residential service provided.

It looks like the company gets good reviews for their automotive glass repair; that is not the case with residential.

I was originally quoted $3,600 to replace the glass of two windows. That quote jumped $1,000 prior to service for a total of $4,600 for two windows.

The day scheduled for inspection of the project, I took off of work. The crew never showed up (as I see has happened before in the reviews). I called and the secretary stated that it was taken off the board for an unknown reason.

She was frustrated at the crew. I reschedule and the crew showed up to inspect. The said it would be a 1 day job and would look great.

The crew showed up the day of the scheduled job around 10AM. The struggled with the windows and broke the frame badly with the larger window.

They placed the windows in and 10 minutes before leaving showed me some damage to the window frame.

The tech said they would fix it prior to leaving. It was very noticeable that they were rushing to get home.

After they left, I called the main office in Winchester to pay. As I was on the phone, I reinspected the window. It was severely damaged still.

Cracked frame inside and out, black sealant, poor caulking, hole in frame leading to inside casing of glass, etc. There was also a mess everywhere with little wood splits, framing nails, and dirt.

I filled a complaint. A small price reduction was given weeks later. The owner stated that they will no longer be doing residential repairs due to this job and the complaints in the past.

The larger window has since allowed water in during a window cleaning (please note: no other window did23 total windows).

I still feel like I was completely scammed. Ive had services provided over the last 10 years in this house by other companies in the area and have 0 complaints about them.

I do not recommend this company and will forever demote them to anyone that asks about window repairs.

Inferior Product and Abysmal Customer Service

AI Highlights
  • - 2019: Glass Doctor installed seven large and ten small panels; by 2024 three panels failed; replacement price tripled; I cannot recommend.
Contains 1 confidential file for company representatives

In July 2019, seven large and ten small double-paned glass panels were installed in my home by the Glass Doctor of St. George, UT.

Less than six months later, one small panel failed. The Glass Doctor wanted three times the original price to replace it. It is now five years later (2024), and three more large panels have failed.

Based on this experience, I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this company. Not only is their product inferior, but their customer service is also abysmal.
