Glass Doctor - Worst business practice ever experienced.
I had a cracked double pane window in my house. As I searched windows replacement companies in VA online, Glass Doctor came up.
I called them to see get a quote for replacement, they said for me to measure and text the measurement/picture of the window which I found odd. Since I'm not a professional at this, I was hoping they send a tech out to measure it. I measured and sent picture as requested. They then told me they will send out a tech to re-measure which is what they should have done in the first place.
A week later, a tech came out and took the measurement without a face mask as my wife and I were wearing one which I thought was rude.
I ignored that and pretended not to notice.
The tech quoted $650 to replace the glass and advised that I search for their coupon online to get at least $25 off before calling their customer service for deposit and order. I got the coupon and call customer support. When I told Robin I had a discount coupon from their website, she said she was not sure if it will be accepted. Weird.
She placed me on hold for a long time and then accepted the coupon.
We proceeded to place the order as I deposited half of the total cost. They promised the glass will be cut and ready to be replaced in 3 to 4 weeks. 4 weeks came and passed, I din not hear from them. I called to get the status, and they used COVID-19 as a delay excuse and promised it will be ready the 5th week.
5th week came and passed, nothing. I called the sixth week, only for them to place me on hold for over 30 minutes and came up with a lie that the glass was broken while on transit. No apologies or compassion at all.
I asked when a new glass will be cut, and she told me she does not know. That was it.
No, let me look into it.
I got really upset and asked to cancel and refund my deposit, and she agreed. My refund got processed.
That was it. What a waste.
